My Favorite New Appliance
Lake Mom

So many people tried to talk me into a gas during our remodel, but after using our in-laws very expensive, top-of-the-line gas cooktop, I knew it wasn't for me. Everything I disliked about their cooktop, I LOVE about this one: ease of cleaning, precision of heat, speed of cooling. I've had glass top electric ranges before, which I liked, but this is even better. With the low temp to touch, food spills and splatters don't cake/burn/stain like they would with electric. I was somewhat concerned that we'd have to buy very expensive new pots and pans, but the IKEA ones we love work just great! We've used it multiple times daily since it was installed three months ago and it looks like brand-new.

Worst customer service experience and fake rebates
Adorice
5/12/2019
I bought this induction cooktop in February and seller who seemed so nice to me suggested to go with this product because the was a credible rebate on it: 100$ visa carte and 10 pieces induction cookware. I called the number given by the seller to register and claim the offer. I spoke to a customer service representative named Markisha who seemed so nice on the phone and asked to send pictures of the coupons what I did for the 100$ Visa card. The 10 pc cookware offer I should just register my product to receive them. No thing happened and Markisha started to change story after story to justify why I couldn't get any of the rebates. Here is the picture send to Markisha that she claimed invisible! I am now preparing a lawsuit against the company.

Couldn't be happier with this cooktop

This cooktop was installed in our home last month and we had used a regular electric cooktop for the previous 4 1/2 months due to an error in ordering and then installing the incorrect product. it's great, water comes to a boil so quickly and doesn't stop when food is placed into the pot. Cleanup is a breeze, always looks shiny, no dull marke left on it due to the convection if some food or water comes into contact with the hot surface.

Had to have electric due to unavailability of gas in our neighborhood. So far this unit performs exactly as advertised and is easy to keep clean and care for. Very happy with this decision to go induction.

I bought a 36" kitchen aid cooktop from Best Buy in December 2017 for almost 2,000. After 3 months, barely used it...3 out of 5 stove didn't work, showing error code F47.

I was a contractor for many years and have used KitchenAid products for the last few decades in high end spec homes and my personal homes. This product is a total disaster. It was replaced once when new and now it's been broken for 6 weeks, error codes (F47) which is VERY common. Customer service is awful, we have spend hours and hours on the phone with no resolution even with an extended warranty. Nobody is willing to remove it including the KA authorized repair companies as they say the glass will break. It was installed with the KA sticky tape and will not come out. I would NOT get this again and would look at other brands. Their other products are good but their induction cooktops are awful. I would give it zero stars if I could. No support, many known issues, bad customer service and not standing behind their product.

Best ever cooking
Dave Sundby

Purchased induction cooktop by KitchenAid six years ago during a major kitchen remodel I saw induction cooking back in the 1970s and was always intrigued. I did extensive research on the use of gas, electric and induction surface cooking. Induction is by far the most efficient, safe and responsive method of cooking. This smooth glass surface is so easy to keep clean and spills are a breeze to clean up. The controls are also bridge to use. I can just tap anywhere along the control and it's selects temperature setting. Or I can slide along the control for the same effect. If I remove the pot I get a signal that the pot has been removed and the burner will turn off. However, when I replace the pot the burner setting is restored. With a glass surface there is the chance of scratching as someone mentioned in a complaint in one of the reviews. I knew through my research that you could cook with a dish towel or paper towel between the burner and the pan. So, I tried that technique this morning as I had done years ago when we first purchased the cooktop while frying eggs and that method worked just fine with no heating of the paper towel. There is one way to reduce the chances of scratching the cooktop.
I have but one complaint. When I purchased our induction cookware, there is one 4 1/2" sauce pan that I am unable to use because the smallest burner is 7 inches. I wish there was a remedy for this problem.
Aside from this I am completely happy.

Smell of burning wires after five years
ksriii

We love induction cooking. The 36" cooktop from Kitchenaid has been a good cooktop. As other reviews cover, adjusting the temperature is sometimes difficult especially if your fingers or the top is wet. After 5 years, the cooktop started to smell of burning wires. Repair costs are so expensive, we would be better off replacing it...

We opted for an induction stove for our new home. It is a form of cooking we've never used before and since we've been in the house, I am loving it. This cooktop is beautiful to look at and easy to use and clean. I'm still learning, but the elements are extremely responsive to changes. I am having fun amazing friends with how fast water boils with the Power feature.

36 inch slot a problem..
SoCal Joe
12/13/2017
I purchased a unit to replace our Wolf electric cooktop. The unit fits nicely into the cutout for the Wolf. The installation instructions however require a 3/16 inch slot in the cabinet below the top of the cabinet 36 inches in length. It is not practical to make this slot. The cooktop will sit on a granite counter top above a built in stove. My dilemma is to install it without the slot or return it.

Not the best thing ever

We furnished our new home with all KitchenAid products because we have had good results with our other KitchenAid products. However, our new 36" induction cook top has failed to live up to expectations. It is now four months old and has had several malfunctions but has been usable. Service has been a problem. Also, we planned on using the Bridge function which now we can not use because no one makes a grill/griddle for the induction top. We can find cast iron grill/griddles but they are heavy and course and will scratch the glass top so we will not use them. One reviewer stated that the induction will boil water fast. Well try to boil two pans of water and the cook top may quit on you. Disappointed with cook top, accessories and service.

Extremely disappointed. This unit surface scratches just by using it. The glass surface does not appear to be manufactured correctly. Called KitchenAid and they are not willing to do anything. How can a cook top that comes in direct contact with pots scratch so easily? I'm using brand new Al-clad pots. Pots are made of recommended material in KitchenAid's Use & Care guide.

We have been using this cooktop for about four months now and I wish I would of tested it out first before spending the money. My kids won't use it, I seem to burn everything on it and I'm a great cook. It also makes a loud buzzing and clicking sounds that drive us crazy. It also has an annoying beeping sound when you remove a pan and turn it off. It's hard to keep clean.

Induction is the Best!
Tom and Nancy

We have KitchenAid Induction in both of our homes. My wife will not go back to gas. We will be purchasing a home with a high-end gas "commercial" cooktop. Before moving in, we will be replacing the gas unit with a 36" induction from KitchenAid. If someone justs reads the instructions, they will know that the cookware is critical for effective performance!

A Real Time Saver!
9/8/2017
I bought this about a month ago to replace the electric top. More than anything else, the time savings to prepare dinner is awesome. It look great, easy to clean and performs great. My only negative is that I don't like the temperature adjustment for ease of use. I don't care for holding my finger and dragging the digital slide bar. I would have preferred a "touch/tap" style better...think it would be easier and more exacting.

I Do Not Love the Clicking

Not in love with the constant clicking and magnetic wave sounds. i would have totally preferred a gas stove over the new next big deal stuff. I bought KitchenAid pots and pans with hopes that the clicking would stop... it didn't. Kind of my only disappointment in the new kitchen.

This cooktop is awesome! Easy to use and works as it is advertised. Boils water in less than 1 minute. Induction is definitely the way to go! It doesn't cool down quite as fast as I had expected but none the less it cools down way faster than a regular cooktop.

Who needs gas?
8/2/2017
We are unable to have gas connected to our home so we replaced our electric cooktop with the Kitchenaid 36" induction cooktop. The elements heat up REALLY quickly and cook evenly. There had been some feedback from others that there was a lot of "clicking" underneath the pans, and there is some, but it is very minor and not an issue. Cooks like a champ and cleans up easily. Can't have gas? Who needs it.

Disappointed
7/19/2017
Not happy with this product. From day one it hasn't performed as I was expecting. When cooking, unless the burner is set to over 6 it will not produce consistent heat instead it pulses off an on causing it to take longer to cook. So cooking consistently at a low temperature is not possible. The more burners I use the worse it is. I called customer service thinking it was maybe hooked up wrong or the power was not correct. However they came out and told me that because a cast iron skillet worked it was a problem with my pans. The Caphalon pans I purchased specifically for the cooktop and were some of their top of the line pans. So I contacted Caphalon about the pans and they had not had any issues and asked me to send them in to determine if they were defective and they were not. I also took my pans to a neighbors and tried my pans on their jenn-air induction cooktop and the pans worked like a dream. So after a complete remodel I am stuck with a cooktop I hate. Left more than disappointed. On one positive note I also purchased a Kitchenaid refrigerator and dishwasher that I have been very pleased with.
